Set in the Cherry Room of the Palace Hotel, archival objects, film, and fiction are used to lead audiences into participatory actions or to evoke a series of narrative tableaux.  In the Shadow of this Archive is a performance that explores a mysterious chance encounter at the 1970’s Osaka Expo – a moment only lasting a minute - that was remembered by Mochizuki’s uncle. He and a group of athletes travelled to Japan to compete in the 1st World Kendo Championship as part of this special occasion.
